The film society at 5he University of Minnesota in the 70's played every single 1 of those films. There were subtitled versions available but I worry that they are no longer existent
I knew of her already but I studied film in college and grad school.
Stacey, you will be amused to read: my mother's college boyfriend was William Jay Smith, who at one point many years back was poet in residence at the Library of Congress, a position that is now called the Poet Laureate like in Great Britain.
My mother and Bill used to double-date with TOM Williams, long before he adopted the Tennessee moniker, while they were undergrads at Washington University in St. Louis. When she was in NYC at library school, she went backstage to see him when one of his plays was being produced. I am not surprised he loved Anna Magnani, considering his plays. <3 <3 <3

YOU HAVE ALL THE BEST STORIES.
Thanks so much. It's sad so much talent doesn't receive the recognition. But, with film, she leaves behind a legacy you can see and hear.
