"[A] rash of city buses had spontaneously exploded and then turned into rolling chariots of death." Oh, how Rome's Chamber of Commerce must have loved that one.

Really, how hard is it to get a damned Christmas tree set up, y'all? I realize Italy is a mess and destined to stay that way, but you can't even get it up once a year? Pathetic.🤣

Too many cooks, if what I'm guessing. Or perhaps it's the reverse, and there aren't enough.

I think Italians are more interested in food and loving to be concerned with banding together for erecting a Christmas tree or fighting in a war.

That's why WE love 'em!

Unfortunately it left a boatload of disabled without decent transportation around the center when the entire mini bus fleet went up in flames. Standard buses could only handle the main thoroughfares resulting in serious long hikes to many stores and service providers.

You're so right! Especially if some folks were getting peppery in that oh-so-Italian way, with the yelling and the hand gestures.

These are the moments we live for.

I may be mistaken but....Earliest history of the Vic Em monument being called the Wedding Cake was by American GI's Bill Mauldin. The typewriter is definitely Italian.
