I had to double check on IMDB, but I did get to see Torn Curtain one time, MANY years ago. My brain couldn't even process that Julie Andrews was the female lead. What stands out in my mind is when the one scientist realizes he's been had: "I've told you everything; you've told me nothing."

Speaking of movies and cats (which we weren't) you will enjoy the Turkish documentary "Kedi," about community cats in Istanbul, and the people in their lives.

How clever are you? Apparently, Andrews was not Hitchcock’s first choice. He didn’t think she was good-looking enough, which is appalling and stupid, IMO.

I am now on the qui vive for “Kedi.” I know I’ll love it

What? No Mystery Science Theater 3000? I really have to question your taste in cinema.... :-)

I haven't seen any of these yet. I've been wanting to see Goodbye, Lenin but haven't had it come up in any channel I have access to. I like the composer who did the music for it though, Yann Tiersen. I listen to his stuff.

Okay, go to Twitter and look up fmovies. Make sure you have a good ad blocker. You'll still have to wade through popups, but...it's there. Not that I'm advocating intellectual property theft. But we're out in the boondocks with no hope of EVER seeing these things.

You are waaaay over my head with these recommendations, but of course I'll put them in my "need to be watched" folder. A couple of additions, if I may... "Cinema Paradiso", which makes me cry every damn time I watch it... without a doubt the best war film ever made, "Cross Of Iron" by Sam Peckinpah (never got any cred in the States because it was produced by Germans in the 60's), and finally "In Bruges", which rates as one as of the best dialogue pieces ever filmed. OK, I'm done now.

Cinema Paradiso is a GREAT film, I completely agree. Never watched Cross of Iron (I find most war films HARD to watch.) But I will sniff around and see if I can handle it.
