Stacey, You’ve received so many beautiful heartfelt comments I can only add that New York will be an exciting adventure and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on my incredibly dynamic beloved city. Wishing you a safe, soft, and easy landing and looking forward to to more of your Cappuccino Blog and to meet up when I’m back in my city so we can have cappuccino in person. xo

VERY exciting! Oh, yes. NYC is like no place else in the entire world. And what's especially entertaining is that it's full of Italians who love it for its energy and newness, while at the same time Americans are packing their bags for Italy because it is none of those things.

I can't wait for that cappuccino with you!

When one door closes, another one opens. May it be a magical mystery tour of new beginnings and enlightenment. I bet the kitties are curious, jumping in boxes, and ready to go. Safe travels, and get some catnaps. ❤️

That's just it. The kitties can't go. We are going to be jobless and homeless, sleeping on a variety of floors and couches, until we finally get some ground under our feet. Re-homing the kitties has been an enormous part of my anguish.

Yeah, that was hard to read. I had presumed they were coming before I read they weren’t. I’m so sorry and gutted as well. Being a cat lover, those are our babies, I feel ya. I’m glad you found them homes.❤️

In my successive moves, starting back when I still entertained delusions of being a full-time academic, I have purged and trimmed my life to the point that, in this upcoming move, I can pretty much fit all that matters to me in a Dodge minivan. If I rent a small trailer, I'll hardly know what to do with myself.

Anyway, 'fortes fortuna juvat', and all that. Any notion of when you'll be more or less permanently back on this side of the puddle?

It's a good feeling, isn't it, being able to travel light? I have few clothes, a handful of books, and that's about it. Came to Italy like that, and now I'm leaving like that, too.

I'm landing at JFK on Feb. 14th.

Safe journey....I remember my relocation from CA back to Houston. Some mornings, I'd wake up and think.... what the hell have I done. The culture shock will be massive.

I love 💕 your Cappuccino stories

I made that move, too, when I was younger and a lot more psychologically flexible. It's a TOUGH relo, Swale. You know that, of course. We're talking two cultures that are not only different, but antithetical.
