My favorite is the first one. I love how it's on a balcony, so you can watch or listen to the world go by if you wish. You could nap. Or you could read. As for lacking a place to set your drink, I'm sure you could improvise. There are a few good choices here, but I lean toward simple- clean lines, ocean view, natural light, a dog or a cat, and a good book. Oh, and comfortable enough to fall asleep, because I inevitably will.🤣

***sigh*** Oh, how lovely that sounds! You paint as effective a picture as any picture I posted.

Thanks. I’m usually not one for painting word pictures, so that’s something different. 😝

Many of these spaces -- especially the ones with steps/stairs up & storage below -- are reminiscent of trailers, boats, and tiny houses. I mean, with my queen-sized futon flopping off all sides of my supposedly queen-sized bed platform, there is literally no room to walk in my bedroom. 11 years of this and I'm still not adjusted to the fact that I'm 65 and crawling over the bed to the closet & dresser as though I was 8.

That one with the bed in the loft and the ladder up -- you mentioned guard rails? On the ladder as well. I know what it is like to try and swing yourself around onto a ladder to climb down from some space. (The roof of my trailer, in my case.) Not a lot of fun. But then, you also need the space to actually swing your legs around. That gets a lot trickier when your knees are shot. And yet those are the kinds of spaces that appeal to me the most.

Every word, Gares. We are cats, both of us, forever seeing small lair-like spaces, knees notwithstanding. John's house in Calcata had ladders going from one floor to the next--and no guardrails. My heart was in my throat every time I went up and down those things.

More guardrails, dammit.
