We’re coming up on a six month anniversary here at Cappuccino, which is why I wanted to give you something to thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting the publication. I wish it could be baskets of Italian chocolate and coffee, but my winning lottery ticket stubbornly refuses to appear. Fear not. I did make you something Italian with my own technologically confused hands—desktop wallpapers! The first of many, (I hope), all for you.
But first, recommendations for two apps that are truly the best things on the Internet. This, coming from a card-carrying Luddite who hates all things techie, unless it’s locating an obscure book I’ve been wanting forever. Or looking at pugs and fat orange kitties.
Radio Garden. The interface alone is amazing (it’s a globe, and you rotate it to locate radio stations) but the dizzying array of music from around the world will leave you hungry to discover even more. Radio Garden started out as a non-profit Dutch radio and digital research project and has morphed into a mainstay in my household. Favorite stations of ours are JazzOnBeatz out of Istanbul, MRG.FM BluesRadio out of New York, Estacion 24 FM 91.8 from Paicol, Colombia, and Nuntii Latini from Finland. Go to your app store or download Radio Garden Live, which is available in iOS, Android, and Desktop. Here’s the link.
Insight Timer. This app is life-changing. It’s the world's largest free library of more than 100,000 guided meditations, so the next time you’re having a rough day, instead of reaching for a box of Ho-Hos, go for a guided meditation instead. THEN reach for the box of Ho-Hos. Insight Timer has acquired a semi-celebrity cache lately, but if you’re like me, you’ll ignore all that whoop-de-doo and just go for the good stuff. Whether you’re looking to relax, become more creative, or more accepting of life’s “isness,” Insight Timer is for you, available in iOS, Android, and Desktop. Here’s the link.
And now some wallpapers! I took three photos that have gotten an enthusiastic online reception and turned them into Cappuccino wallpapers, which you can download and use as a background for your desktop. I’m a little nutty about wallpapers, probably because I am forced to stare at a screen for so many hours every day. So if these images transport you, at least in spirit, my work here is done.
Thank you for supporting Cappuccino!

I LOVE Radio Garden!!! There are a couple of radio stations in Iceland and Norway I love to listen, partially for the odd looks when friends come over and they try to figure out what the Hell I'm listening to.... :-)
Nice...
